One day off and fairytale creatures

I should not be aloud to go shopping by myself, I need someone with me who can stop me or else it ends up like today. Either I made some of the best purchues of my life, or some of the worse. Only time will tell. But I updates some of my hot tools for my kit, which I really needed! Although I'm not sure if these are as great as they seem, if they are I'm one lucky gal. And also I got my costume ready for the Halloween party, so exciting. And the most exciting thing is that it's only one and a half week left, which means it's less then two weeks until I go to Miami.
Besides shopping I actually got some things done today, like retouching photos from this weekends photoshoots. From now on I will always do the makeup in my own apartment, it is such a luxury to be able to set things up before the model arrive and you have everything you could possibly need. At least when doing airbrush cause it's such a pain to drag all that stuff with you at the subway. Well, enough talking, here are my two favorite shoots from Saturday and Sunday with Brittany and Hailey!

The Face Off Party

So after work today I went to the Face Off Party by European Body Arts at Naimees with some friends. Free food, goodie bags, great makeups, everything you need for an awesome evening!
Snapshots from my phone, blurry as they should be..

Wednesday update

And suddenly I got the day off since we had to reschedule today's photoshoot. So I'm having breakfast and watching disney movies and preparing for this weekend, which is going to be hectic with shoots both Saturday and Sunday.
until then, here's another photo from a shoot with Miko and Jasmine.

Son of Monsterpalooza

I stopped by at Son of Monsterpalooza today to look at the demos, see if they had something fun for sale and say hi to some friends!

Prepp

Prepping for one of next weeks photoshoots, 20's, body art and headbands!

Halloween

I still haven't grasped the whole thing about it being October already, certainly doesn't feel that way. But as so many other things this past year, I might just have to accept that it is so. And with the month of October comes all the fun and fright around Halloween. As a makeup artist this can be a pretty busy time, and a very fun one. I only have a couple of gigs around Halloween since I'm kind of occupied elsewhere, but I'm really looking forward to them. And then of course there's the Halloween Party! And since I'm in the states it's time to go all in with costume and makeup this year. Last year I did an not so original but fun vampire look, but now I actually have a theme to go with. Guess what it is...
Yep, it's gonna be a Mad Hat Tea Party! And I really need to start planning my costume and makeup. For those who, as myself, need some inspiration for Halloween I think one of the most fun ways to find that is by visiting youtube and look up different tutorials. One of my favs are Kandee Johnsson who makes the cutest videos and most adorable makeups.

Friday night

My friday night is not very exciting at all. Had a rough day, feeling kind of homesick and decided to just stay in. So I'm doing laundry, watching Face Off and sketching on a makeup that I'm doing in a couple of weeks.

October 1st

And here it is, October. What for most is the month of fall, if you don't live in California so to say, and the official month of Halloween! Of course this makes me a little excited, I'm about to spend my first Halloween in America and we all know that they don't hold back on the fright here. Many of my friends are working on theme parks during this and I am tempted to go visit some, especially Disneyland would be awesome but since Universal Studios is just by my house it may be more likely I'll pay a visit there. Something that I will certainly do though is spending next weekend at Son of Monsterpalooza. Last time I was here I was volunteering at Monsterpalooza so I didn't really have the time to see everything, this time around I'm going all three days to make sure I don't miss a thing.
What else is in October.. Well, some photoshoots of course. I have to get my entry to IMATS Battle of the Brushes ready ad I would also love to do some Halloween makeups to show you, if there's time. Then I have to start preparing my own Halloween costume, thats gonna be fine. All and all this month will pass by so fast and the only thing I'm gonna miss is real fall weather with hot cocoa and rainy days, but hey, in a month I will be on my way to Miami so I should not complain!
Here's some inspiration for Halloween, a simple way to enhance bonestructure and do a zombie-ish look with airbrush. Makeup by my former classmate Courtney Ulrich during airbrush class in june this year.

Uncover Magazine

Here's what Ive been doing today: First I spent time helping out with the preparations for a photoshoot for Uncover Magazine, aka I did makeup, ironed clothes, ran errands etc. Then I thought for myself as I got home around four, I do deserve some ice cream. Said and done, Ben & Jerry's and some more SATC it was. I will probably have seen alla six seasons in a couple of weeks but why not. And what's better entertainment when you're already spending your saturday night in doing laundry. At least I'm gonna get myself to the gym for some running, got new shoes earlier this week and I haven't tried them properly yet.
Well, well, speaking about Uncover Magazine, here is a photo from my photoshoot with Uncover and the story about bright colored lips.
Just observe that this is before retouch!

Makeup mania

Oh, it is good to be back! Although I do get homesick this works pretty great as a second home for me. Today has been.. just how I wanted it to be, fun but not stressfull. It hasn't really happened that much to tell you about, except that I got the news that I am going to be in Makeup Magazine. How fun?! And not only one picture of me but a lot of them, only one where I look good though but you can't get everything in this world.
And another fun thing I got today was this picture from a photoshoot I did in july, or maybe the beggining of august, with talented photagrapher Miko Seppänen and model Just Jaz. We went all in on the Helmut Lang/androgyn theme and it did turn out pretty fabolous, didn't it?

Home sweet home

There's truly something special about home. Especially when you're spending the summer out by the sea.

I landed in Stockholm late last night and now I'm enjoying some quality time with the boyfriend and his family. It's so beautiful here, just look at the view from or window. And we've got little chickens to play with, cutest ever!

Disney magic

Wow, yesterday was amazing. We spent the whole day at California Adventure and had so much luck with the weather and everything. I had the time if my life, some of the rides are really cool, others super cute and silly and Tower of Terror freaked me out, but in a good way. Also lots of great food, great company of course and we ended the day with World of Color wich is a water/light show that was sooo beautiful. True Disney Magic!

Glad midsommar

Good morning! I just wanted to wish all of my friends in Sweden a happy and awesome midsummer. Wish I could be with you and celebrate but we're doing things a little differently here. At least I'm having strawberrys for breakfast and then we're off to California Adventure, wihoo!!

My day

Such a beautiful day in Los Angeles today, the weather has been great! I went to the Hollywood and Max Factor Museum which was a lot of fun. All the makeup rooms and costumes and a fabulous exhibit of Marilyn Monroe. I also did a bit of shopping and ordered some stuff at Mac that I'm gonna get before I leave America. Can't believe it's only like three weeks left!!

Downtown

So today I've been out and about with my teacher Wendy Ann and some of my cute classmates on a little field trip to downtown LA. We started out with having French dipped Roast beef Sandwiches at Phillips, a super American diner. That's a first and yep, it was yummie! After that we went to se an opening at FIDM for fashion in traveling through the years, and also got a chance to see some other if the axing stuff they have there. And of course we took a little drive around downtown, having a look at china town, the jewelry district and so on. It was so nice and so different from the rest of LA. There's some really amazing buildings and architecture and it kinda reminded me of home, I've been missing this actual "city feeling". Then we ended the night at the cutest little restaurant and dessert shop, super expensive but oh I did want some of that candy!
Great night with so much fun and I'm looking forward to getting some sleep now. My back is still a bit sore from the sunburn and itchy so I'm just hoping it'll go away until tomorrow, got some fun plans then :)

Burn!

Powernap with my bunny
