Uncover Magazine

Here's what Ive been doing today: First I spent time helping out with the preparations for a photoshoot for Uncover Magazine, aka I did makeup, ironed clothes, ran errands etc. Then I thought for myself as I got home around four, I do deserve some ice cream. Said and done, Ben & Jerry's and some more SATC it was. I will probably have seen alla six seasons in a couple of weeks but why not. And what's better entertainment when you're already spending your saturday night in doing laundry. At least I'm gonna get myself to the gym for some running, got new shoes earlier this week and I haven't tried them properly yet.
Well, well, speaking about Uncover Magazine, here is a photo from my photoshoot with Uncover and the story about bright colored lips.
Just observe that this is before retouch!

Another new in

Long day, I sure deserve a night in with SATC and chocolate. Photoshoot tomorrow, gotta get up early. I was planning to show some more photos from one of my last shoots but somehow my computer won't work me. Well, at least you can get this one:
Photagrapher: Tobias Walka
Model: Katie Sandström

Things you might find...

..a regular thursday on Hollywood Blvd.
Cute heartshapeped glasses, can't get to many of those, right?

Stars, stars and more stars!

Free tickets to the Jimmy Kimmel show, if you wanna stand in line for a couple of hours of course

A great place to find your Halloween costume, or as I did, buy makeup brushes

Johnny Depp x 2, kind of

The cutest sweater ever, I think I need one of these!

Battle of the brushes

So for those who don't know what Battle of the Brushes is, it's a competition during IMATS for students or recent graduates from recognize makeup schools. It's a great opportunity to show your work, get publicity and of course  some nice prices for the winner.
AS you can guess I've been talking a lot about this today, with several people around me. I'm tempted to try out for the competition and therefor I am now going through my portfolio in search for pictures that would represent me in the best way. Although, it's hard to entry this thing and better not to get your hope up but one can only do it's best.
And by the way, next years theme for the beaty/fantasy competition is Art through the ages, how spred out isn't that?!

Tribal look

I got something new for you!
Here's from my one of my latest photoshoots where I did a tribal inspired airbrush. Had lots of fun that day with Tobia Walka and Katie Sandström and I think it turned out good! Gotta tell you that although I'm a proud makeupartist, sometimes you just love what the photagraphers can do in photoshop. The retouch on this one is..wow!
I'm so excited about this right now, being back in LA and surrounded by so many talanted people is truly inspiring. Can't wait to start doing makeups here now, especially really dig in to the world of body art and airbrush.

Makeup mania

Oh, it is good to be back! Although I do get homesick this works pretty great as a second home for me. Today has been.. just how I wanted it to be, fun but not stressfull. It hasn't really happened that much to tell you about, except that I got the news that I am going to be in Makeup Magazine. How fun?! And not only one picture of me but a lot of them, only one where I look good though but you can't get everything in this world.
And another fun thing I got today was this picture from a photoshoot I did in july, or maybe the beggining of august, with talented photagrapher Miko Seppänen and model Just Jaz. We went all in on the Helmut Lang/androgyn theme and it did turn out pretty fabolous, didn't it?

Best of New York City

So my week in NYC has ended and I thought i should do a short summary, as much as for myself as for anyone who reads it.
I have fallen head over heals in love with this amazing city as it not only measured up to my expectations but actually was better. The feeling of being exactly where you're supposed to be mixed with the amazement that you're actually there was something I walked around with for a week. And I think the absolute top moments were:
  • Walking in to New York Public Library, both because I'm a book worm, because it is so beautiful and of course 'cause of the gorgeaus scenes from SATC that were filmed there.
  • Walking through Central Park. This never stopped amazing me, such a wonderful idea to create this place of peace and nature in the middle of the city. I've never enjoyed breakfast outside this much before and I must say again, they do have the best waffles ever!
  • All of the fun, different places I've been, everywhere from Wall Street to Soho, Little Italy to Fifth Avenue, it just doesn't get boring and there's always more to see.
I am so happy that i did this trip, it has been an adventure that I'm gonna take with me the rest of my life. And I'm also very greatful to all the people I've meet in New York who has taken care of me and with whom I've had a lot of fun, both new and old friends!

Saturday evening from the top of Rockafeller Center

I made it to LA

I do not appriciate early morning flights, not at all! But besides from being exhausted I did make it to Los Angeles and my beloved apartment, home sweet home! And it actually feels good to be back, bittersweet in one way but still good. Knowing that I have six full weeks here with lots of fun before I'm going to Miami, I'm just gonna try to make the most of it.
But today it's all about relaxing. I got here around 11am Los Angeles time, and there was no traffic from the airport which was great. Since I was so early and usually check in time for the apartments are around 3pm I thought I was gonna have to han out by the pool or something for a couple of hours. But my place was already cleaned and ready to move in to, lucky me! So I've installed myself, took a long nap and then went grocery shopping. There's something calming about moving back to a place you already know, every time I've gone over the Atlantic before I've moved to a new place but here I feel like home and know how everything from keys to buses work. So I think I'm gonna spend the rest of the evening out by the pool or with a couple of episodes of Sex and the City before going to bed, tomorrow the madness begins!

On top of the world

Rockafeller Center had a great view from the top..

Last day in NYC

I had a wonderful evening yesterday when I met up with my friend Jess from Los Angeles and her company. We did some shopping and then had a great mediterranian dinner, thanks a lot ladies!
Today I've mostly been walking around and looking in stores. They've got a huge Macy's near Madison garden where I spent a couple of hours and also had breakfast. Now I've packed my stuff and I'm all set for the early flight tomorrow, but first I'm gonna enjoy my last evening in this amazing city!

The Met

I started my day with "breakfast" at Magnolia Bakery, tried their delicious Banana Bred Pudding. Then I took a walk through Central Park and spent the rest of the day at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts. It's so big that I definitely missed some rooms although I tried to se everything from paintings to sphinxes.
They also had a gorgeous rooftop garden where I enjoyed my lunch :)

Out and about

It is 4 AM here in NYC and I just stumbled into bed after a fun night out on town. Quickly described with three short sentences:
Rooftop bar in Meat packing district.
Gorgeous view over Manhattan.
New York City!

Waffles!

I've been super lazy this morning, took a walk in Central Park where I found a quiet little place with a gorgeous view. So I bought waffles with ice cream and strawberrys and had breakfast in the sun. Best waffles ever! Now I'm back at the hostel and changing shoes for a trip to the Museum of Natural History.

Evening at Manhattan

Running down Fifth Avenue in my new boots, which by the way made my feet very happy after walking in flat shoes for a couple of days, is like a dream. And then I had such a nice evening with drinks and dinner and an amazing view over Manhattan and a fabolous restaurant. Yep, I'm in heaven and I'm gonna stay here three more days!
From earlier today, the view from Staten Island Ferry and a very happy me in my new New York hoodie.

Staten Island

It's chilly in New York

It's autumn here and actually really chilly in the mornings. So I did the best thing I could think about, ordered a latte at Starbucks and took a walk through the city. Or at least from Times Square to Grand Central and then up to Fith Avenue. I'm falling more and more in love with the city each day I'm here and now I don't want to leave! Have no idea if it's the city that's made for me or me that's made for the city but I do like it here a lot.

My feet are sore

But my heart is happy!I've been walking around the whole day today, from New York Public Library to Union Square, Brooklynn Bridge to Little Italy and Soho, and then back up again. I'm in terrible need of some rest right now and so in love with this city.

Breakfast in Bryant Park

My last days in Sweden

I gotta tell you about how I spent my last days in Sweden!
Wednesday was photoshoot-day, I did a little airbrush gig that didn't take much time at all. Then I got home and spent the evening with some of my closest friends. My other half had made an awesome dinner and then we had chocolate fondue for dessert, I can't even tell you how full I was after that. So then I had to say goodbye to my friends, I hate goodbyes. I can't handle it, always start crying. I'm like Graham (played by Jude Law) in The Holiday, a weeper!
Thursday I was packing the whole day, sorting out stuff, doing laundry, you name. I also had to say goodbye to my "parents-in-law", which also felt a bit sad although I'm gonna see them pretty soon. Thursday evening me an my love spent in the sofa, eating pizza and candy and watching stupid, fun movies like Rio. Love animated kids movies, they are the best, especially old Disney classics like Beaty and the Beast.
And Friday I slept in, went out on town with Alex for some shopping that didn't really happen. Instead we had lunch at TGI Friday's and got company for a couple of drinks by the wonderful Carin. I also got a little gift from her that I have to show you! After that me and Alex went to a really nice restaurant, had five courses with vine and just enjoyed each others company. I realize when I'm writing this that I'm super spoiled with good food!
And then of course, it was yesterday, travel day. One stop at Iceland, two movies and many hours later i found myself in New York!

Hello New York!

Okey, so yesterday evening I landed at JFK after a pretty easy flight. Man, it's so much better to fly to New York than to Los Angeles. I really prefer six hours instead of eleven. I did get through the border, although they were a bit hard on me. This is the first and last time I'm staying this long on a tourist visa, haha! This morning I woke up in a pretty desent time, around 7 AM but tried to stay in bed a bit longer. The jetlag isn't that bad but I'm a bit tired so I havent' done much today. Took a long stroll in Central Park and, bought som breakfast on my way to Times Square. I do have the worst feeling for geografy and locations so I thought I was going to be lost all day but it worked out fine. So now I'm writing a long list of things I wanna do and se while talking to my love over messenger, and soon I'm going for dinner somewhere. Love the feeling og freedom when you have nothing planned at all and only yourself to take care of, a bit lonely in a new city but endless possibilitys!

Two days left

I'm enjoying my last two days in Sweden, trying to make the most out of it. We had a really nice dinner with friends yesterday and I really have the greatest boyfriend who made us food and chocolate fondue for dessert, in a huge fountaine. Today I started packing, sorting out my kit and doing laundry. I realized that although I have to travel with an extra luggage cause I need to take my makeup case with me, I still gonna have lot of space in my bags wich means extra space for shopping. Can't wait to get to the big apple!

It's never to cold for a photoshoot

Hello little bugs!
Todays shoot is both aquatic and animalistic, and this water ain't warm. But with my favorite lotion, a little bit of sun and a very patient model it's getting good.

I don't wanna grow up

Hello little bugs!
NEW YORK CITY!!
Crazy things going on this week, on saturday I'm flying over to NYC but that's not the only thing. Soon I will have a lot of grown up pionts, hopefully! Got some work tomorrow and I'm excited as always, especially since I got the photos from last weeks photoshoot and they are gorgeous
One and a half year ago, I had just moved to Stockholm, started my education at Makeupstudion, had darker hair and loved smokey eyeys. Things do change, and sometimes quickly..

Prague

From yesterday, high up with a gorgeous view of Prague.

Testers, trips and other fun stuff

Soo. today is one of those lazy kind of days. Went to the hairdresser to get my hair freshened up, haven't done anything with it for over six months. Got some stuff with me to get a more even color without actually coloring it which is good. Then I've been mostly at home trying to sort things out and pack my bag for tomorrow. I realized one of the problems with being a makeupartist, and having friends in the industry, is that you have way to much stuff. Luxury problem, yeah I know, but still. Especially testers from different brands, small lipsticks, mascaras, containers of skincare in travelsize. In one way awesome when you travel a lot, but it takes up so much space. I swear, I have acuople of bags with just testers and gifts and although I try to use them all the time I just keep filling thoose bags again. Oh my, but I won't complaine a lot about it, I'm just happy to be a bit spoiled!
Back to packing. Tomorrow me and my man is leaving for Prague. We're gonna have a long weekend there enjoying the city with it's culture and architecture. Hopefully some really good food and som shopping too. I can't wait to get there, such a beautiful city. Flight is leaving early tomorrow morning so tonight is just gonna be movie night with Ben & Jerry's ice cream and getting to sleep early!

Happy, tired girl

Oh, such a lovely shoot we had today. Lots of laughs and geekiness. I'm feeling so blessed that I get these opportunities to work with talented and wonderful people. Here's some pics for you that today's model, beautiful Elle took. They show just how much fun we had with this champagne shoot (told you it was going to be sparkles and bubbles!)

Good morning love bugs!

Later today I've got this FUN photoshoot that I'm gonna do. Let's say it's gonna be a bit bubbles and sparkle and a real femme fatale feeling. I got way to much energy right now and can't wait to get started with this but I do have some preparations to do first. Until then, let's take a look at the inspiration for todays makeup looks.
These are just some random photos from google that I showed the fotographer and model. I like the feeling so we are going big and bold today! I'll be back with more update and maybe some backstage photos for ya'll.

Just a little tease

Teaser from this saturdays photoshoot with Tobias Walka and Katie Sandström!

Snake skin

Playing around with shapes and patterns, testing how waterproof the color is and proving to myself that I'm pretty good at picking this little thing apart for cleaning!
